Wolfstar jumped up onto the mossy rock, calling a clan meeting loud and clear before sitting down and getting comfortable. He watched as his clan gathered around, and his eyes narrowed in on Dawnflight and their kits, coming out of the nursery. He smiled partly before looking back towards the clan and speaking, "Hello everyone. Ive got good and bad news. I guess Ill get the bad news over with, so it can be done and over. We scented a badger not long ago, and we were thinking it had left the territory when we scented it again today. If it doesnt leave soon then unfortunatley Ill have to choose a patrol to go and deal with the issue. This is the bad season for badgers and foxes, and weve smelt fox here and there, but thank goodness they havent stuck around any yet. Lets hope they dont."
The clan nodded their agreement, but he noticed the she cats looking at their kits even if they were already grown, no mother wanted their kit or kits to go on a patrol for badgers or foxes, but sometimes it had to be done.
"Onto the good news, some of you must know, but Dawnflight has had her kits. Our kits." A look of pride filled his eyes as he looked down at the five of them, before addressing the clan again. "Please welcome them as you would any other litter, and Frostgleam should be having her own kits soon. The nursery is thriving, and thats just what we need."
Once again- the clan nodded their heads, almost beaming with excitement. New kits meant new warriors and apprentices, and since now there were 8 kits, and more on the way- it was a good day. Wolfstar hated to ruin it with patrols, but it had to be done, and he had been buckling down on patrols ever since the badger and now it was paying off.
"Okay, one last thing and you are free." He purred slightly. "I need a hunting patrol to go get some fresh kill for the pile, so if I could have Lilysnow, Spiderwhisper, Hazelpaw, and Darkshadow, it would be great. Then for the border patrol tomorrow, I will need myself, Cardinalpaw, Stormheart, and Cliffriver." He saw Creekflowers eyes narrow at him slightly as he said her kits name, and he felt bad for having to bring him along, but he was a good warrior and you never knew with border patrols.
